Polar Ring®

The Polar Ring contains small magnets, which can be life-threatening if swallowed. It is intended for adult use only and is not suitable for individuals under 14 years old. Keep away from children and pets at all times. If your Polar Ring disassembles and becomes damaged, stop using it immediately, put it in a safe spot out of reach of children and pets, and contact our support team at hello@projectratchet.com.

The Polar Ring is not water proof. We recommend you always avoid contact with water, as the moisture can affect the bindings of the internal magnets over time. We recommend you take off your Polar Ring when washing your hands to ensure its longevity. Never expose your Polar Ring to any kind of alcohol.

If your Polar Ring is exposed to water, you can disassemble it with the free tool and dry off the internals with a towel.

Project Ratchet is managed from Stockholm, Sweden. Our rings are precision-machined in our partner’s engineering workshop in Seoul, South Korea, and shipped from our fulfillment partner in Ohio, United States.

All orders, size exchanges and returns go through our shipping partner based out of Ohio, United States. 

If you’re from the EU, don’t worry. This doesn’t mean you’ll have to pay any extra import fees or VAT. We take care of that in advance for you, at no extra cost to you.

We meticulously machine our products out of some of the best materials on Earth. That’s why each Polar Ring is guaranteed for a lifetime against defects in materials and craftsmanship.

If anything happens to your Polar Ring over time, we will be there to help you. We handle this on a case by case basis, and every situation is different from the next. What they all have in common is that it ends with your Polar Ring back in pristine clicking condition.

This guarantee applies to handling under responsible use by its original owner. Exposure to harsh chemicals or damage caused by high drops, extreme exposure to the elements, neglect, etc., will void the warranty.

Thanks to the fact that the magnets never actually touch, the mechanism has minimal metal-to-metal interaction and little mechanical wear.

We will still include a tool with your order for emergencies.

The only instance we found of wear is from extensively flicking a non-Black Edition ring at high speeds. We recommend keeping this to a minimum. Thanks to the DLC coating, this is not something you have to keep in mind for the Black Edition Polar rings.

Unless subjected to a major impact or extreme heat, the magnets will not lose enough strength to noticeably affect the feel of the clicks.

One of our main focuses when designing our rings is to make sure they are comfortable to wear in daily life. This means that while the Polar Ring is thicker than most rings, it's thin enough to not bother your other fingers when wearing it.

The width and thickness of the Polar Ring is constant for all sizes and the measurements are:

• Width: 7 mm
• Thickness: 2.8 mm

The reason we do not recommend flicking a non-Black Edition Polar Ring fast is because the frictional properties on the Black Edition are superior to those of the Classic Steel rings.

If you flick a Classic Steel/ design ring fast, the metal to metal interaction can shave of small particles of steel, which can interfere with the magnets.

This does not happen with the Black Edition rings (including Two-Tone) due to the superior frictional properties and the increased hardness of the surface.

Full Black Edition rings (not Two-Tone) have the best frictional properties for achieving a spin by flicking the ring. If you value a longer spin, we recommend a Black Edition or a Black Edition Design ring.

The Polar Ring is machined in 316 Stainless Steel.

316 is a highly durable and corrosion resistant grade of stainless steel.

The Polar Ring Black Edition has a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating. This means that an additional (and highly durable) layer of carbon with a diamond-like structure is added to the surface to change the color.

Normal use will not lead to corrosion.

If something were to happen with the internal magnets and they lose their coating, internal rust is possible.

This is very rare, and covered by the Lifetime Warranty.

Yes! The logic behind this is very simple - you replace a bad habit (nail biting/ skin picking) with a good habit (clicking the Ratchet Ring). What's different here is the similarities of the two habits. They both give a sense of resistance and release, and they both sit on your hand. This makes the transition from biting to clicking more natural, and it makes it easier to really integrate it into your routine and rewire your brain to clicking the ring instead of biting or picking.
