The Ratchet Ring contains a small spring, which can be life-threatening if swallowed. It is intended for adult use only and is not suitable for individuals under 14 years old. Project Ratchet was founded in Stockholm, Sweden in early 2021.

Our Nordic roots have deeply influenced our approach in developing our rings, with minimalist design, heirloom durability, and straightforward functionality as core values.

Project Ratchet is managed from Stockholm, Sweden. Our rings are precision-machined in our partner’s engineering workshop in Seoul, South Korea, and shipped from our fulfillment partner in Ohio, United States.

All orders, size exchanges and returns go through our shipping partner based out of Ohio, United States. 

If you’re from the EU, don’t worry. This doesn’t mean you’ll have to pay any extra import fees or VAT. We take care of that in advance for you, at no extra cost to you.

We meticulously machine our products out of some of the best materials on Earth. That’s why each Ratchet Ring is guaranteed for a lifetime against defects in materials and craftsmanship.

If you need a replacement spring, we can always send you one - free of charge.

If anything happens to your Ratchet Ring over time, we will be there to help you. We handle this on a case by case basis, and every situation is different from the next. What they all have in common is that they end with your Ratchet Ring back in pristine clicking condition.

This guarantee applies to handling under responsible use by its original owner. Exposure to harsh chemicals or damage caused by high drops, extreme exposure to the elements, neglect, etc., will void the warranty.

The sound of the ring depends on how you use it. Turn it slowly with more pressure, and the clicks become soft and muffled.

Turn it quickly with a lighter touch, and you'll hear sharper, louder clicks.

You're in full control of the sound, but in a completely silent or very quiet room, even the quietest motions may be heard as a a faint clicking sound.

Water will not damage the ring, but since the ring is not fully encapsulated (this would cause too much friction), water can find its way into the ring. This small amount of water will also find its way out with a few turns.

You can wash your hands or even shower with the Ratchet Ring, but you will notice a different feeling in the clicks for a while after. It goes back to normal after it dries up.

Do not wear the Ratchet Ring in the ocean or expose it to salt water - this can damage the internal mechanism of the ring.

Normal use in non-salt water will not lead to corrosion.

The Ratchet Ring is machined in 316 Stainless Steel.

316 is a highly durable and corrosion resistant grade of stainless steel.

The Ratchet Ring Black Edition has a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating. This means that an additional (and highly durable) layer of carbon with a diamond-like structure is added to the surface to change the color.

Yes! The logic behind this is very simple - you replace a bad habit (nail biting/ skin picking) with a good habit (clicking the Ratchet Ring). What's different here is the similarities of the two habits. They both give a sense of resistance and release, and they both sit on your hand. This makes the transition from biting to clicking more natural, and it makes it easier to really integrate it into your routine and rewire your brain to clicking the ring instead of biting or picking.
